Owners of eligible prestige, classic and vintage cars may be able to use their vehicle as security for an asset-backed loan without having to sell it outright.
Release My Capital provides asset-backed lending against selected high-value vehicles, including prestige, performance, classic and collectible cars. The amount available will depend on the individual vehicle, its condition, provenance, marketability and the requirements of the agreement.
As with any secured borrowing, interest and any applicable charges will apply, and the vehicle may ultimately be sold if the loan is not repaid in accordance with the agreement.
An asset-backed loan may provide access to capital while allowing you to retain ownership of your vehicle, subject to repayment of the facility.
Clients may consider this type of borrowing where they need capital for purposes such as:
Whether this type of facility is appropriate will depend on your individual circumstances and your ability to repay the loan.
Each vehicle is assessed individually.
Factors considered may include:
Prestige and classic vehicles may be considered regardless of age where the vehicle has sufficient value and meets the relevant eligibility requirements.
Provide details of your vehicle and the amount of funding you are looking to access.
Our team reviews the vehicle and may request photographs, supporting information or a specialist appraisal.
Where appropriate, initial lending terms are provided for consideration.
Any initial offer remains subject to the required valuation, checks and documentation.
Required identity, ownership, valuation and agreement checks are completed before final terms are confirmed.
Once the agreement has been completed, the vehicle has been received where required, and all relevant conditions have been satisfied, funds are transferred to your nominated bank account.
Completion times will vary depending on the vehicle and the individual circumstances of the application.
Your vehicle is securely stored throughout the loan agreement, with collection arranged where required.
The applicable storage arrangements and any associated costs will be explained before you enter into the facility.
Before taking out an asset-backed loan, you should understand:
You should review the terms carefully before deciding whether to proceed.
Early settlement may be available subject to the terms of the individual agreement.
If a notice period, interest in lieu of notice or other conditions apply, these will be explained before you enter into the facility.
If you experience, or expect to experience, difficulty repaying your agreement, you should contact Release My Capital as early as possible.
For regulated agreements, customers in or approaching arrears or default must be treated with forbearance and due consideration, taking their individual circumstances into account. FCA Handbook
Where the agreement ultimately remains unpaid, the vehicle may be sold in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.
Release My Capital provides a direct service throughout the lending process and treats client information confidentially.
Information may be shared where necessary to assess, administer or provide the facility, including with relevant valuers, storage providers, professional advisers or other parties where required by law.
